Live in Belgium is feeling nostalgic at District Deurne.Thursday, September 21st, 2017 at 9:05pm
One year ago on this date is the collection of my Orange Card in Belgium. That was 2 months after arriving in Belgium. Like others, receiving it was one of the first joys of many foreigners applying for a cohabitation visa to join their partners here.

In many cities, the waiting time to get an Orange Card is 6 months of more. After the joy, anxiety arised while waiting for the final approval from the Belgian Immigration Office. Eventually, the question is "Will I get the approval for the Belgian residence card?"

The Helsinki Train Station should be another point of interest even if one is not taking a train. Inaugurated in 1919, BBC chose it as one of the world’s most beautiful railway stations in 2013.

Apart from the acclaimed Antwerp Central Station rated by Mashable as being the most beautiful railway station from around the world, Helsinki Central Station earns its due recognition and well-deserved for the title.

What impresses me about Helsinki Airport train to city centre is 2 units of 230V charging station available at each platform seat. During the 30-minutes journey, I get to charge my mobile for a while.

On the right of the image is the paper ticket. It costs €5 for a single trip from Vantaa to Helsinki region. You will not be able to buy a ticket inside the train. Take note that the train inspector will check it on board of the train.

About Live in Belgium

Hello, my name is MissSJ. I am a Singaporean. I am living with my Belgian partner since July 2016 in a cosmopolitan city, Antwerp. However, I had been travelling to and fro Belgium since 2011 as a tourist. The creation of this blog is to document my new journey in Belgium which I would like to call 'home'. Join me in discovering the fascinating Belgium from the eyes of an expat.
